On Saturday 9th June at 1pm we will be holding the Phillis Beeley Tournament. This is one of our longest-standing events played in memory of one of the club's most charismatic original members. The wife of a former Headmaster at Lydney Grammar School, Phillis Beeley's photograph is on the wall in the clubhouse.
This is a team event, usually doubles, with the exact format dependant on the number of entrants.
With the new tennis season almost upon us it's time to sign up for the Early Season Doubles Event .
This will take place at the club on Saturday 24th March starting at 10.00am.
There is a maximum entry of 8 men and 8 ladies - so first come, first served. No pun intended!
Players enter individually and find out who their partner is on the day.
This is not a mixed tournament, but are separate mens and ladies groups. The event will operate on a knock-out basis with the morning matches essentially semi-finals, with the winners going through to play their respective finals in the afternoon. Matches are the best of 3 sets with a Championship tie-break at one set all.
Entries close at midday on Thursday 22nd March.
For the 2018/19 membership year starting 1st April 2018 we will be introducing an online membership system which will allow you to manage and renew your membership. The system is provided by ClubSpark who already provide our online court booking system. If you have made an account before, either for court booking or coaching, please use the same login details.
You can now pay online by Direct Debit via GoCardless.
If paying online is a problem for you, please contact our Membership Secretary Cath here and we will find you an alternative payment method.
You will need to activate your membership before the start of the membership year on 1st April in order to receive the new gate access code for the club.
You can sign up and pay for your membership at the following address: https://clubspark.lta.org.uk/lydneytennisclub/Membership/Join
If you don’t want to renew your membership for next year, please let me know so I can take you off the list.
We don’t have full records of who pays a family membership, so if this is what you want, you can also sign up via the link above and choose 'Family 2018/19’. You will then be asked to add the other members of your family.
Parents of junior members (under 18, not part of a family membership) should create/sign in to an account in your name. You will be asked to add your child’s details when you select a junior membership.
If you have any questions or experience any problems, please contact web support here.
